Per tradition, here is our round-up of holiday gift suggestions! This year, we wanted to focus on Indigenous artists that are giving back to their communities–not only do all of these products feature Indigenous designers, but they also benefit great causes! 

• Her Braids (Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg and Timiskaming First Nation): 10% of the proceeds of every beaded necklace purchased from Her Braids goes to the David Suzuki Foundation’s Blue Dot Movement, which works towards universal access to clean drinking water in Canada.
• The Heritage Center (Oglala Lakota): All of the items sold at The Heritage Center are made by local community members, and benefit the Red Cloud Indian School. Products include quillwork, beadwork, dentalium jewelry, ledger art, star quilts, and Lakota books & music.
• Neechie Gear (Sweetgrass First Nation): Neechie Gear, which sells tees, sweatshirts, & sports apparel, donates a portion of their proceeds to supporting low-income kids play sports. 
• ShopIndig is partnering with Kiowa Sage to buy Christmas decorations, gifts, and groceries for an Aboriginal family in Saskatoon this year. ShopIndig also supports small Native-owned businesses by providing grants. 
• Native Northwest (various NW Coast): Native Northwest features tees, sweatshirts, boots & shoes, scarves, bags, hats, jewelry, phone cases, housewares, children’s toys, and a variety of other items featuring original designs by NW Coast artists. Native Northwest supports the Makah Cultural Center, U’mista Cultural Society, Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society, Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society, & Aboriginal Head Start Association.
