That also goes for using ß as an aesthetic B.

On my old server, there was a character named ßillyßadass.

This never failed to make me laugh, because that letter is not pronounced like B. It is a sharp S.

That guy named himself SsillySsadass.

Also to people who you Σ as an aesthetic E

If you are a Canadian wanting to help the asylum seekers in the States, consider pushing your representatives to suspend the safe third country act. The States are no longer safe, and our PM has refused to ‘play politics’ with the inhumane acts in America. Let’s remind him that his job is to ‘play politics’. Protest. Yell. Make noise. There’s a petition, or places you can donate to in order to support the fight that our neighbours to our South are fighting. We can make change. Demand it. Push for it. If you can’t donate, make noise, reblog, call your politicians, condemn these actions, and make sure that the people around you know that this isn’t okay. And in the words of Elie Wiesel:

When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men and women are persecuted because oftheir race, religion, or political views, that place must – at that moment –become the center of the universe.

TBH a lot of my friends have been saying stuff like “it would be no good to try to flee to Canada, they have an extradition treaty with the US.”

If you want to help us, it’s time to start playing hardball with our horrible government.

1) We don’t extradite citizens to countries where they’d be charged with the death penalty. CBSA is Canadian ICE and dicks to refugees, but as long as you’re not hopping the border, it will not affect you.

2) You shouldn’t be trying to cross our border anyway (it’s mad dangerous) and the people who are doing it out of a final act of desperation.

3) It is REALLY EASY for professionals to immigrate to Canada. All the information you need is right here and you can even apply online.

4) It is nothing short of phenomenally shitty for American citizens to presume that they are in the same position as refugees to America. It is a cruel lie to spread this misinformation when Canada is the best first resort for professional POC/queer people concerned about their future.

Ty for this. I’ll admit to being low on brain energy lately.

I don’t care what the Founding Fathers would have wanted, I don’t care if Jesus was a hippie or not, I don’t care what Marx prescribed. I can’t take living in a world where we’re all servants of long-dead men. You know what happens if you make a law the Founding Fathers wouldn’t like? Nothing, they’re dead and they’re never coming back. I’m genuinely envious of countries that can just make whatever laws they want without worrying about how 18th century agrarian noblemen would have seen it. Stop arguing that Jesus loved the poor too, what he loved or didn’t love is irrelevant, he doesn’t get a say in any of this. We could have a country that isn’t shackled to these ghosts if we collectively wanted to.

Emergency contraceptive info for US readers

Ok, I have now mentioned this three times in comments on Facebook, so it gets its own post, which I am cross posting across platforms.

I am not citing sources because I’m on my phone and this is all easily Google able. If anyone wants to drop links in reblogs for those who find Google difficult, I’d appreciate it.

SO.

Yes, you can get Plan B online, without a prescription, for relatively cheap.

HOWEVER.

Plan B loses efficacy in people 165lbs or over, and is completely ineffective at 175lbs. The median weight of Americans with uteri is 166lbs.

The Ella pill is efficacious regardless of weight. It is much more expensive ($67 vs $12) and requires a prescription.

BUT. PRJKT RUBY does a free online consultation, after which they will give you a prescription – and, if you like, ship you the pill. They will do this for other contraceptive methods as well.

And if you need help with the cost, my asks are open. If I don’t have it myself, I can help you find it.

Critical Feminist response: Ocean’s 8 has a smaller cast because they couldn’t think of eleven different jobs women could do.

The Truth: Ocean’s 8 is true to life because women have to pull off the same shit as men with 70% of the resources.

Crone response: Everyone knows 27% of the men in any organization are just dead weight that the rest are too cowardly to kick out.
