the moon told me personally that she thinks you’re obnoxious and hopes you never get a girlfriend
I have a theory that the moon IS a trans woman cause she’s always associated with feminine things but when we saw the craters that look like a face we called it “The Man In The Moon”. She’s a woman with a face that people may perceive as male. She’s a beautiful trans woman
the moon is a beautiful trans woman who hates terfs and shows her face every night to remind other trans women they are beautiful and strong and loved and important and wonderful and that terfs and their opinions dont matter
I wanna add to this if it’s ok?? In Hindu mythology, Chandra, the moon, was originally thought of as a male deity. However, as time went on, symbolism involving the moon and the name “Chandra” itself became identified with femininity, with beautiful girls being described as having “moon-like faces,” with their dark, long hair reminding lovers of the midnight sky, and names like “Nilaa” (”moon” in Tamil) and “Indu” (in Sanskrit) are now pretty much now completely girl names!
AlsO Chandra is married to 27 wives, who are all stars. The moon is a trans lesbian and is gay for all the stars in the sky.
I’m here for the trans sky lesbian and her poly marriage.
This is written at a 5th grade level, and is intended to be read by kids from approximately age 9-14, but can provide a useful, shorter summary of gender issues for anyone. It discusses how and why to stop bullying, and why it’s important to respect people’s stated gender identities and pronouns.
It is intended to be copied to a handout for kids, with names inserted at appropriate places in the “who to ask for help” section.
It goes into less detail than the document intended for teachers.
The Rabbinical Assembly, made up of 1,700 rabbis, stated that all those who identify as transgender will be identified with the name, gender and pronoun of their choosing, and those will be used when they are called to recite the Torah and the denomination will implement full recognition and accommodation for transgender people within the religious institution. Three Christian denominations have also spoken out in support of trans rights.
[Image Description] Cover image for the article “19 Makeup Tips that are Actually Helpful for Trans Women. Four trans women are shown having makeup applied to their face by the makeup artist that advised the writing of this article. [End Image Description]
This is a *really good* article that both handles anatomy concerns and presumes zero background makeup knowledge. Well done.
It’s amazing that the cover photo is showing both older women and people of color, something that the media consistently ignores regarding the trans community.
Holy crap “Lost Stars” just acknowledged the existence of transgender people in the Star Wars universe. And not only that, but that transition technology and procedures exist and are relatively common knowledge.
I know some people could interpret this as an anti-trans women joke, but it honestly doesn’t read that way to me. This author, Claudia Gray, could have had Dak say something very different, either overly derisive of trans people (we all know how those jokes tend to go) or responding with agreement about how cold it is and not mentioning transition at all. Instead Gray has Dak say “There are easier ways to switch genders you know.” Aka if for some reason Thane wasn’t talking about the cold, it opened up that line of conversation (Perhaps Dak’s reason for saying it within the diegesis of the story). Aka letting any trans readers know that people like them exist in the Star Wars universe in canon, even if no named trans characters have appeared yet (I don’t think they have?).
Idk, this line blew me away and made me really happy. Gray has made people like me a canon part of the Star Wars universe with this line, and not in a way that marginalizes us or treats us as freaks (at least the way I read this line) and that makes me ludicrously pleased.
Update! I saw Claudia Gray at C2E2. I pointed out the line to her and said “Thank you so much for making people like me a part of Star Wars.” And then basically gave her a short version of my post on the line.
She gave me a big hug and told me that she was so glad I caught the line and read it that way, because that’s exactly how she meant it, and of course trans people are a part of the Star Wars universe. And then she signed my book like this:
I’m so overwhelmingly happy you guys. You have no idea.
Ok so I have to talk about how excited I am about this book. It’s an upcoming children’s novel called George, written by genderqueer author Alex Gino. It’s about a little trans girl who wants the world to see her for who she is.
I’ve poked around the author’s website and was really pleased by what I found and this looks like it could be a terrific read.
You can pre order it at alexgino.com (which I am about to do right now) but if you can’t afford an expensive hardback bother your rich friends to get a copy or something idk in any case this looks exciting and I want people to know about it
Also ask your local public library to order a copy!
At the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, a trans researcher and renowned expert on sexuality and gender has been named the first chair in transgender studies.
With the help of a million-dollar donation from a U.S.-based foundation, Prof. Aaron Devor will work with the university’s Faculty of Social Sciences to advance study on issues that affect transgender people, such as healthcare, poverty, discrimination and suicide.
Devor, who is also transgender, is a professor in the university’s sociology department, an elected member of the elite International Academy of Sex Research and a fellow of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality.
He said about one in 200 people are transgender — a higher number than many would imagine.
“We’re not talking about a minuscule part of the population,” he said. “Social change is very uneven. We’re seeing a lot of glamorous celebrity transgender people in the media these days, but that is not the reality for most transgender people’s lives.”
The new educational focus on trans issues isn’t happening only in Canada; a transgender studies program is in the works at the University of Arizona. This is much-needed and should set a precedent for schools all over the world.
hey there LGBTQ kids who are also Christian/Jewish! If you feel like you’re disobeying God, questioning your faith, or feel wrong and dirty for loving who you love, there’s this fantastic site I found today called hoperemains that accurately and thoroughly combs through scripture and its (many) mistranslations, validates your orientation, and basically let’s you know that you’re not pissing off God. It’s insanely thorough and after reading through every page on the entire site it’s super helpful. Go check it out!
hoperemains is completely from a Christian perspective, and not pluralistic or interfaith at all.
If you reblogged the first post from me please reblog this amendment so the Jewish peeps can access this resource too!
Trans Jewish kids, you can go to TransTorah as well!
Muslim LGBTQ kids, you can go to iamnotharaam! It’s run by a mod squad of different genders and orientations, and they take submissions from everybody!
